Trip to Taj Mahal

During the weekend we made a trip to the famous Thj Mahal which is 200KM away from
New Delhi. Our ride took around 4-5 hours for one direction. There was a lot of traffic and
no ending bumps on the "new highway". Traffic is unbelievable busy in India. For me it seems that there are no rules at all so it is not a big surprise that it took us so long

The Thaj was bulid around 1631 built by Mugul Emperor Shan Jahan in memory of his favorite wife which had born him 14 children and than died. Further info at wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taj_Mahal)

I have never seen so much scrap on the streets. This seems to be normal in India.

People standing with their trained monkeys at the road waiting for visitiors and their money

That there are a lot of cows on the street is not a lie

You can find so many differen types of cow!!

After arriving to the Oberoi hotel Agra, we stayed at the Oberoi in New Delhi,
we used teh free shuttle to get to Taj

Perfect frame for the Taj

Bad luck with the weather. It was raining all day. This humidity was killing me.

Where ever you look: You see WASTE!!

People sitting in the rain.

All in all it was a very nice trip but this seeing on one side the Taj and on the other side the kids
fishing for waste in the river just showed the real world.

New Delhi City Center

Because of the national holiday "independence day" I am having three days off. Friday I headed with my colleague to the city center of Delhi. First we went to a shopping mall for souvenirs. Later we went to the center but we coulnd´t visit that much because several streets are blocked bye the police. The center is quite dirty and people are very busy. Always trying to sell something to us.

New Delhi "wild life"

On the streets in Delhi and also at our plant I found animals that normally are living in a zoo.

This monkey at our factory is a fighting monkey. He should keep other wild monkeys away. Anyway I am not trusting those animals.

Monkey and his owner

This guy wanted that I touche his cobra snake...but I preefered to run away.

New Delhi taffic

Our hotel is based directly in New Delhi. Depending on the traffic we need 1-2 hours to ur plant in Haryana. Enough time to take fotos of the chaotic traffic.

How many people cape in a moto?

New Delhi

After four days in India I got a first impression about country, people and culture. The two pictures are taken out of my hotel window and they are showing the mayor problem. The polution of the air and other natrual resources. The totays newspaper says that rain dropped in some regions by 50% to the previous year.

View out of my hotel window with less smog

Smog where ever you look. Believe me its hard to breath
